- Our client for this project was a well renowned quality manufacturer of small goods and poultry products.
- Today this company operates as part of a larger global food brand operating throughout Australia and New Zealand.
The brief for this project was to design and manufacture a conveyor to eliminate/reduce the manual handling workload undertaken as part of an existing production line.
As part of this project, our Design Engineers collaborated with the Project Engineers and stakeholders on site to gain an in depth understanding of the functionality of the existing production line and the challenges at hand.
As part of the engagement process it was identified early on that the main challenge facing the end user was the multi-level production line and the lack of assistance/automation to raise ingredients to the appropriate levels for production. Not only was the existing process extremely manual but it was also very time consuming.
In collaboration with our partners, our Design Engineers were able to come up with a concept that involved the design and fabrication of an incline conveyor. Our team was able to bring this concept to life through the use of 3D technology so that our customer was able to visualise the solution in real time. By using this technology our design team was able to engage with the end user on site to encourage feedback and to ensure that the new incline conveyor would function in conjunction with the existing production line.
Our Design team was them able to provide a full suite of drawings to our highly skilled fabrication team, to bring the concept to life. Upon completion of the fabrication the Incline Conveyor underwent rigorous testing and sign-off prior to the despatch from our workshop to our site team for installation.

The introduction of the new Incline Conveyor resulted in a more automated approach to the existing production line. The new Incline Conveyor eliminated the need for the end user to raise ingredients and products manually and in turn resulted in increased production levels.
All materials utilised met or exceeded food production standards, this combined with the high quality of fabrication and the design concept resulted in a reduction in down time and a much more hygienic and easily cleanable production line.
This was a fantastic result for our client and for the overall health and safety of the end user on site.
