Project Overview

As part of this project our client required a solution for the design of a new and improved Chocolate Dispensing Hopper.

The purpose of the project was to provide a solution that would evenly dispense chocolate onto product and that would interact with an existing production line and provide additional coverage to increase production volume.

Solution

As part of this project, our Design Engineers had to undertake a case study to gain an in depth understanding of customer requirements, the current functionality of the existing production line and determine the ‘end game’ for the design.

Our Design Engineers were then able to draw from the case study to derive and provide an engineering solution in a 3D concept to enable the customer to visualise the solution in real time. As part of this process our team engaged with on site operators for feedback to provide a concept that met and exceeded customer requirements.

From here our highly qualified team of draftsmen were then able to provide a full set of fabrication drawings for review by the customer and our specialised QA team. These drawings were then passed onto our highly skilled workshop team for fabrication.

Upon completion of fabrication, the hopper underwent rigorous FAT testing by our QA team prior to being delivered to the customer and ultimately installed by our Jarlam site team.

Benefits / Outcome

This project provided our design engineers with an opportunity to come up with a design, that not only met production requirements, but was able to enhance heating capabilities, increase automation and provide a safer and more operator friendly solution.

All materials used met and or exceeded food production standards and the design complemented a clean and hygienical approach. The workmanship from our team was of the highest of quality and the new Chocolate Dispensing Hopper was easily incorporated into the existing design, increasing productivity and ultimately reducing any downtime that previously resulted from blockages caused by uneven heating.

This was a fantastic result for our customer and we would like to congratulate our team on providing a solution that exceeded customer expectations and meeting extremely tight deadlines.
