We partnered with a prominent Australian contract manufacturer that specialises in food supply solutions, including bars, granolas, wholefoods, cereals, grains, and snacks.

The main scope of this project involved shifting two distinct bar and biscuit production lines, which included all associated equipment for blending, forming, cooking, cooling, and packaging. As part of this move, we had to upgrade the electrical infrastructure at the end user’s facility to ensure it could reliably handle the power demands of the relocated machines.

The Challenge

  • The complex machinery relocation presented significant risks of programming loss and cable disorganisation during the move.
  • The existing electrical infrastructure had unknown power limits for handling the incoming heavy manufacturing machinery loads.
  • Existing electrical sub-mains and distribution boards were completely inadequate for both current relocated machines and future expansions.

The Solution

  • We provided comprehensive cable scheduling, accurate programming, and variable speed drive backups to heavily mitigate risks.
  • Comprehensive power monitoring successfully determined the exact electrical load requirements compared against the existing infrastructure capacity.
  • We upgraded sub-mains and installed two custom distribution boards with overhead gantries to support future expansion.
  • Thorough preparation works ensured the entire production line was successfully reconnected and fully energised within two weeks.
